Associação de Amparo aos Animais - I often feel closer to dogs than I feel to people

I was in a mastermind meeting with a bunch of online entrepreneurs this past January in San Diego, and we played a game called, “Is it true for you too?”

The way it works is that one person stands at the front of the room and shares something that’s true for them, and then they ask, “It true for you too?” and then everyone whose answer is “YES!” has to stand up, run across the room, and find a different seat.

But it’s like musical chairs, and there’s one too few seats, so someone is always left standing. And on it goes.

Anyway, I’ll never forget one of the “true for yous” that came up in January.

Justin, one of the entrepreneurs I admire most in the group, said, “I often feel closer to dogs than I feel to people.”

And OVER HALF OF THE ROOM STOOD UP and started running to find a different seat.

I was floored.

But I shouldn’t have been.

There’s no doubt about it—our pets are precious to us.

They connect us to unconditional love like nothing else in the world can.

I’m thinking of the bumper sticker that says, “I’m striving to be the person my dog thinks I am.”

Right??? That pretty much sums it up.
